IDAHOBIT is the international day against homo-, bi-, inter-, and transphobia. Since 2005 it is annually celebrated on the 17th of may to raise awareness of the discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community.

This day was selected as on the 17th of May 1990 WHO officially removed homosexuality from the code of the diseases. However, there is still a long road to follow. 69 countries criminalise homosexuality (BBC 2021). For trans* people it is at least not possible in 47 UN member states to officially change their gender (Forbes 2020).

The HEX Lab supports diversity in science and society in all facettes. In this regard, we stand against discrimination of any kind.
