Prof. Dr. Daniel Roth
Daniel is assistant professor (W1) for Human-Centered Computing and Extended Reality at the Department of Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Engineering at FAU and head of the HEX Lab. Before, he was a senior research scientist for Prof. Nassir Navab the Chair for Computer Aided Medical Procedures and Augmented Reality, Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany. He received his doctoral degree in Computer Science in 2019 from the University of Würzburg (HCI Group) supervised by Prof. Marc Erich Latoschik. His thesis focused on intrapersonal, interpersonal, and hybrid aspects of virtual reality. He received his Engineering Masters degree in Media- and Imaging Technology from the University of Applied Sciences Cologne (TH Köln). His research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction, Virtual- and Augmented Reality, and AI in the context of physical and mental health.
